We have 2 main Event Management services to offer you; our basic service and the full Event Management service.  Both are bespoke packages, tailored to your individual needs and budget, to ensure your event is just perfect.

Our Event Management Services consist of various elements as standard, depending on whether you choose the basic or full service, which will at the very least contribute towards your event being a complete success.

Basic Event Management Service:

We all have daily commitments, whether you work full-time or are a full-time Mum, it is so difficult to find the time to commit to planning an event, so our basic service is designed to assist you with your event and to just take the pressure off.

Theme advice, ideas and creation

Whatever you want your event to represent, celebrate or promote, it’s a good idea to have some kind of theme.  This doesn’t necessarily mean Cowboys and Indians or a famous TV programme or film but could be as simple as a colour or topic relevant to the reason for your event.  The Finishing Touches can offer advice and ideas to make sure the theme you choose is perfect.

Once you’ve decided on a theme, you then need to think about how you want to apply it to your event. Both overdoing it or not getting the theme across enough could end up being a negative talking point so you need to make sure you research your theme so you can apply it to every aspect of the party where required.

The Finishing Touches helps with all aspects of the theme advice, ideas and creation.  If you’re totally stuck for ideas then we can brainstorm, decide whether your own ideas are feasible and then make sure we set the scene effectively at the event.

It sounds easy but coming up with a theme and then actually continuing it throughout your event can be a challenge.  Luckily, The Finishing Touches are imaginative and very well practised at setting the scene at events, so we guarantee the theme you decide on, with or without our guidance, will be obvious, look amazing and continue from the invitations through to the goody bags or gifts your guests take home with them at the end of your event.

Indoor and outdoor decorations

Here, we’re not just talking about a few balloons and a bit of bunting to decorate your event with. The decoration of an event covers a whole host of areas from table centrepieces and flowers to ice sculptures in your company logo.

With our creative co-ordinators and innovative ideas, decorating your event will give us the challenge we thrive on and give you the perfect event.

Invitation design and supply

“Getting the invitations in the post is easy, why would you need an Event Planner to do it for you?”

Yes, anyone can stick a stamp on an envelope and pop it in the Post Box but you first of all need the time to design your invitations, depending on your chosen theme. Once you’ve chosen them, you then need to collate a list of addresses and contact names for those you wish to invite and somehow arrange (or do it yourself) to write the addresses on envelopes.

You then need to think about keeping track of replies. Who’s coming, who’s not coming, who’s not replied? As the RSVP’s start coming in, it’s likely to be around the time the caterers need final numbers and the DJ needs their final payment and the entertainer has just cancelled on you so you need to find another one fast….. Not an easy task when you work full time or have young children to look after during the day.

It may sound dramatic but it can feel like it’ll never pull together in time as everyone wants different things from you ‘X’ amount of days/weeks before the event. Even if our Event Co-Ordinator can take the pressure off you by just handling the RSVP’s for you, we have achieved our goal.

Your event needs to be enjoyable for you and by getting stressed out beforehand means it’s likely you won’t enjoy it or relax when the event is upon you, so let The Finishing Touches help you with this service and we promise you’ll be impressed and extremely pleased with the results.

Whether you choose the basic or full package, we will develop a personal timeline of your event to prove to you we’ve thought of everything and for you to keep track of what needs doing and when.  Whether you entrust The Finishing Touches to fully manage your event or you just want assistance in selected areas (with our basic package) this timeline will prove invaluable.  We’ll even point out the best time to think about getting your hair and nails done for the event or paying the final balance on the suit we suggested you hire from our local tailor the week before!

Full budget control

For those of you who work full-time (or have full-time commitments) on top of trying to plan and create your event, trust me…. it’s harder than you think!

Keeping track of what’s been booked, who needs a deposit and who doesn’t, when final balances are due and who wants cash paid to them at the event is very difficult and needs to be closely monitored to ensure everyone turns up and does what’s needed at the event.  There’s nothing more embarrassing than forgetting to bring the comedian his £150 cash on the night and having to ask around to get enough collectively.

If you think you can organise your budget effectively yourself, The Finishing Touches will provide a timeline of your event as part of our basic and full package so that you will always know exactly what needs to be paid and when.

As part of our full service, we offer full budget control.  This means you can either entrust us with your budget and we will pay vendors as and when required without additional authorisation from you, so you can have peace of mind that everything is being dealt with on a timely basis or you keep hold of your budget and when vendors are due for payment, The Finishing Touches will notify you 14 days beforehand so you can arrange a draw down on your finances for payment.

You can either pay us so we take full control of the face-to-face communications with the different contacts or we will provide the payee information directly to you so you can pay vendors directly.

This service is the biggest one for offering peace of mind, as it’s the one that can have the biggest consequences if it goes wrong!

Catering Options

Throughout our time as Event Co-Ordinators, we have gained trusted contacts in the catering business so we are able to recommend highly skilled caterers for any food or beverage requirement for your event.

From chocolate fountains (or Champagne fountains for the ‘Wow’ Factor!) and finger buffets to a seven course silver service meal, they can all be catered for through our trusted vendors.

The Finishing Touches will research caterers for you and get quotes for your catering requirements.  You can then either follow them up yourself once you’ve decided what to go for and book directly (available in our basic package) or we can handle all aspects of your catering needs, as per the full service, including menu creation and menu tasting.

It’s a time consuming part to planning an event so it’s worth considering how much time you can dedicate to your catering options.  If getting out of the office or finding childcare for a morning for taster sessions will be difficult, you may want to opt for the full service so The Finishing Touches can deal with this side of things for you.

Entertainment booking and reservation handling

Again, our Co-Ordinators along the way have gathered great contacts in Entertainment and have built rapports with a variety of different acts and artists.

Magicians and illusionists, comedians, music impersonators and dance acts are among the categories of entertainers we know so we’re confident at The Finishing Touches that we can find exactly what you’re looking for.

We will make sure that the transaction from researching to booking and paying the entertainer goes smoothly and everything is provided for at the event

Setting up of equipment etc

Whether you require projectors to show that embarrassing home video of the star guest or areas set aside for the Elvis impersonator we’ve just booked for you, The Finishing Touches will arrange this directly with the venue so that everything goes smoothly at the event and nothing is forgotten.

This is why we chose our name ‘The finishing Touches’, as we really do put the finishing touches on everything we do.  It’s the attention to detail that will make your event a success and a memorable occasion so this is why we’re good at Event Planning!

Meet and greet resourcing

If you want exclusivity at your event, The Finishing Touches can provide door staff to check invitations and tick guests off a list before entering the venue and security personnel can also be present if required.

Should you be expecting over 50 guests, it’s a good idea to think about using a guest speaker or professional networker who can engage with your guests and start conversations among different groups, if you won’t be able to realistically get to them all yourself.

Once again, The Finishing Touches can offer advice, research and resourcing to provide exactly what you need.

Post event clear-up

Congratulations!  You’re event is finally happening and after such a long night of mingling with your guests and having a few drinks after the build up to your event the last thing you need to think about is staying behind for an hour after everyone has left to collect everything that was hired, pack away what you want to keep and fill bin liners with the rubbish that you don’t want so you leave the venue how it was before you hired it.

Leave it to us at The Finishing Touches to do.  We offer a post-event clear up service as part of our full service so you really can just turn up to your event, enjoy yourself and relax then go home at the same time as your guests.

Ad-hoc services

If there’s anything else you need to make your event truly spectacular then of course we can do it!

How about looking into flights and hotel rooms for your guests?  Have you thought about parking, if the venue can’t provide enough?

If you’re out of the country, we can organise your event for you whilst keeping in touch ourselves by web or teleconferencing.

Have you thought about whether any of your guests are disabled, diabetic, have hearing disabilities or are visually impaired?  This could have an impact on the entertainment or venue you choose so we’ll look into this for you to make sure everyone has the same experience at your event.
